Disruption of a workstation is the major contributor to downtime in any manufacturing process, and it impacts performance, cost, consumer’s centric value, efficiency. The effect cascaded whole assembly line by blockage starvation caused defective workstations. Consequently, key appropriately allocating resources limiting an accurate understanding aftermath each disturbance. work presented here investigates how disruptions at single can affect nearby researchers modified Alarm Trip Point (ATP) setting threshold value for malfunctioning workstation. This increase or decrease ATP depending on state By using this strategy, batch rejection be reduced. then extended their study from multiple workstations, creating more general model. They deployed strategy asphalt processing plant as experimental case order illustrate effective decreasing downtime, frequent starts stops, numerous rejections. proposed approach resulted number rejections significant amount. start-stop events was reduced 60%, resulting finally increasing consumer-centric also comparison with Yu et al., which showed that outperformed terms reduction rejection.
